Tulum, my absolutely new passion between eco chick and hippy deluxe

3

Tulum has taken over my heart, last year in june I spend my first week in Tulum, and after the first hour it was absolutely clear, I have to come back. I am amazed by this little town, not only that beach lovers will get their full pleasure through turquoise water, endless white powder sandy beaches, Tulum has much more to offer. What once was an idyllic stretch of sand on the riviera maya, has now become eco-traveller´s paradise, eco chick hotels which rooms (here little own cabañas, small villas) and funky hotels are set in the dunes with mind-blowing views into the native jungle gardens and onto the caribbean, yoga retreats which nearly every hotel offers, and of course, everything is sustainable. Most hotels and restaurants run with solar and wind power which they generate and the food that you find in the restaurants is organic and grown in the area of Tulum it self. Most restaurants have a large variety of vegan and vegetarian culinary options, some of them even offer sustainable cooking classes.

Tulum is the perfect bohemian location to relax, calm down, be healthy and to get fit, to treat yourself with doing nothing, but getting the feeling of being one with your body and mind.

Besides endless yoga offers, you can go snorkeling in the cenotes and sinkholes, enjoy these spiritual places with a picnic or just chill an afternoon at the beach, visit the Maya Temples or take a nice walk along the beach road and discover many unique boutiques and enjoy a fresh fruit juice at one of the cute little stands. The best way to get around Tulum, you rent a bicycle  at your hotel and explore the city by being a bit sporty yourself.

Do to the season, Tulum also has become a big kite mecca, during the winter month there is a constand wind which in combination of flat water and 50 meters walk in zone, is perfect for beginners and pros. There are plenty kite schools located at the beach, you just have to get up and choose one you like.

After all, Tulum is the perfect experience if you want to get away from mass tourism and any kind of stress and hectic, more will you be surprised by the kindness and happiness by locals and foreigners who choose to live and work in Tulum, they are part of the special, cool, funky, hip and relaxed experience you will have.

tried and tested : Papaya Playa Project

Papaya Playa is an eco chick resort for couples, singles or bigger groups of friends to hang out, chill and to dance to electric sounds of the DJ playing at the beach club every evening until 12pm. On full moon you can enjoy the full moon party as long as your body will take you with the flow.

Papaya offers rooms and individual casitas from low budget to high budget, but be sure, everyone staying @ this resort is looking for the same vibe.

If you decide on a new casita (what we really enjoyed) you will get your private sunbed @ the beach, breakfast is included in higher room categories and is served and displayed in an open hut next to the beach club.

La Zebra:

the nicest beach club, the best food on the beach, a family friendly resort with a new playground for children, rooms with plunge pools and Cabañas in the dunes, an mexican interior design highlight.

we enjoyed the fresh ingredients and the colorful presentation of the food as much as the spectacular views on the endless white beach and the turquoise warm caribbean water.

For fashionistas and bohemian lovers: shopping hippy deluxe in beautyful individual styled and designed boutiques…… an experience for your sexy body, but also for your spiritual retreat

Hi John, thanx for reading my articles. As this is a blog based on my experiences, that is also the only thing I report about, but I will try to make them a bit more detailled next time. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask and I will see if I have the answer you are looking for.
